Fish Diaries is an app written for you to track and learn from your fishings sessions. The application is intended to secure your data for only you to use. We encrypt the data at rest and the only person that will see your data is you. The power of tracking your sessions will show you patterns of how you tend to fish, teach you the weather patterns that may affect where you find fish and give you insight into your lakes and lure choices. As you start a new fishing session things will happen in the background of the application. We will grab information from weather and lunar data points that can give you insight into the trends that are specific to you. All the data that you see is only your data and your data will stay with only you.
Whether you're out on the water or at the boat launch, starting a new fishing session is quick and easy. Simply select "Sessions" or tap "Start New Session" to begin. When you navigate to the "Sessions" page, the app will prompt you to enable location services. Granting location access is essential, as it helps us identify patterns in your catches and enhance your fishing experience. Once location access is granted, you'll be guided to input the following details: Body of Water (required) Notes (optional) You’ll also have the option to add fishing companions to your session. This feature allows you to document who you're fishing with and capture key details such as fishing structures, lure usage, and on-the-water activity. Please note: Adding friends to a session does not grant them access to your personal data. Your session data remains private unless you choose to share it. (Sharing functionality is currently in development and will be available in a future update.)

Simply provide the following information: Activity Type Fish Species Lure (selected from your personalized tackle box) Water Temperature Water Clarity In the background, the app automatically captures relevant environmental data, including weather conditions, moon phase, and air temperature at the exact time of the activity. All your data is securely stored in the cloud, allowing you to view, edit, and analyze your entries anytime, anywhere.
The search feature allows you to quickly locate specific fishing sessions, activities, or notes with ease. You can filter your results by date, body of water, or other relevant criteria to efficiently access your fishing history. Designed to help you identify patterns and trends over time, this tool becomes more powerful the more you use it. Because the search is based solely on your personal activity data, its accuracy and usefulness grow as you consistently track your fishing experiences.
The Trophy Room is a dedicated space for you to showcase your most impressive catches. This feature allows you to celebrate your fishing achievements and share them with friends or fellow anglers. You can easily upload photos of your trophy fish, along with details such as species, weight, length, and the body of water where it was caught. The Trophy Room serves as a personal gallery that highlights your fishing accomplishments and provides a visual representation of your skills and dedication to the sport.
The Tackle Box feature lets you build a customized inventory of your fishing gear tailored to your target species and fishing style. You can easily add, edit, or remove items, ensuring your tackle list is always current and accurate. Beyond gear management, this feature helps you make data-driven decisions on which lures, colors, and setups are delivering the best results. By tracking what works, you'll gain valuable insights into your most effective fishing strategies—leading to more catches and bigger fish.
The Fishing Buddies feature allows you to connect with your trusted circle of anglers and share memorable fishing experiences. Easily add friends to your profile to log joint fishing sessions, track shared activities, and celebrate trophy catches together. Sharing data is entirely optional—you maintain full control over what information you choose to share. This feature also helps you keep a record of who accompanied you during each session, adding context and connection to your fishing history.
The Lunar Calendar feature provides you with valuable insights into lunar phases and their potential impact on fishing activity. By tracking the moon's cycles, you can identify patterns that may influence fish behavior and feeding habits. This information can help you plan your fishing trips more effectively, increasing your chances of success. The Lunar Calendar is designed to be user-friendly, allowing you to easily access lunar data and incorporate it into your fishing strategy.
